New generation of fibrillated cellulose

With a range of positive properties, our partner Sappi enriches the market for cosmetic raw materials with its fibrillated cellulose. Its diverse range of applications takes your formulation to a whole new level. Specially developed for rinse-off formulations, Valida CR-3 is the latest addition to the product portfolio of this attractive product group.

Valida – the useful addition to all cosmetic formulations

Versatile and valuable

Compared to conventional cellulose, Valida is processed using cellulose fibrils. These are dispersed in water, forming a stable three-dimensional cellulose fiber network.

Thanks to its special properties, Valida can be used in a wide range of applications in your formulation:

  • Stabilizes the formulation without affecting viscosity
  • Stabilizes sensitive active ingredients such as UV filters and DHA
  • Keeps particles and pigments in suspension and improves dispersions
  • Improves pick-up in emulsions
  • Proven to increase the SPF of sunscreens with physical and chemical UV filters
  • Improves spreadability and avoids soaping
  • Creates a light, silky skin feel
  • Increases skin moisture through excellent water binding
  • Stable in a wide pH range and solvent-based systems
  • Film-forming properties, improves scratch resistance
  • Creates a creamy and denser foam in surfactant-containing products
  • Synergistic effects with thickeners such as xanthan gum and carbomer
  • Improved spray pattern
  • Improved adhesion to vertical surfaces (vertical cling effect)

Valida CR-3: The all-round talent for your rinse-off formulation

With Valida CR-3 (INCI: Water, Cellulose, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid), Sappi has developed a new Valida type that is particularly suitable for products in the mass market and low-price sector.

Depending on the individual composition of the end product, CR-3 can significantly improve the performance of your formulation, especially for sulfate-free surfactant systems:

  • Foam height
  • Foam longevity
  • Creaminess and density of the foam
  • Suspension properties
  • Increase in viscosity
  • Synergistic increase in viscosity with other raw materials
  • Rheology profile
